6-28-2010 Report

I have been fishing the Bay of Green Bay with a legend  the last few days.  I am always amazed at the different techniques many Pro's will bring to the area to catch fish.  We have had 15 to 25 fish each day with a lot of hours on the water but not always a lot of fishing. We are searching new areas and eliminating water and it seems when you find them there are a bunch of fish together. Harnesses have been the best and many fish have been caught shallow even during the middle of the day.  Colors have not been a big factor but size has. The bigger the better.

6-22-2010 Report

Started on the West shore last night and moved deeper and wound up on the East shore by dark. We boated about 13 and lost a couple of others. We kept changing cranks and depths until we narrowed things down. Running baits between 7' and 14' were the best. #7 Flicker shads along with Reef Runners did the best.

 6-2-2010  Report

Slow night and big waves!  We tried for a few hours in the evening straight out of the river in Oshkosh. We managed a 20", 16" and a 14" and nothing caught more than one fish. The fish seemed much lower in the water column and we marked a ton of big fish but could not get them to go.

6-1-2010 Report

Saturday out of Cal County by myself had my best day of the year. I started mid-day on a contour line straight out of the landing at 17' and headed South.  I picked up a 23 3/4 " , a 20" and a 18" and lost about a 20" and a couple of 15" before calling it quits. Bright baits when the sun was out and darker baits when it was cloudy was the trick. The fish also wanted it fast and running about 2.5 was the best.

Sunday we started from Stockbridge and headed South to try a couple on new areas and only had about 6 for the morning with nothing over 16" all in the mud again.

Monday I was fishing with some friends in town for the upcoming tournament and have to be a little tight lipped but we caught about 25 fish with the biggest just under 22".  The mud seemed to be the key again and short passes seemed to be better than just trolling a straight line for hours.

Black and Silver Shad Raps have been good as usual,  Ripsticks with snap weights Blue Flicker Shads in #5's.

5-22-10 Fished Poygan the afternoon of the 6th and boy was it Windy!  We only managed one 10 incher and missed two others but it was really hard to find clear water. We tried running cranks just out of Tustin and it was too rough. I had friends fishing at the same time in Clark's bay and only managed one little one also.  Hopefully the wind eases up and the water settles out.
